The Big Bug Book: A Pop-up Celebration by David A. Carter Review
If you have seen some of David Carter’s other pop-up books, know that this is more of the same. The pages are filled with familiarly styled bugs, as well as some that have appeared before. The colorful bugs pop, both dimensionally and graphically, on the clean white pages.
This book’s format is big, like the title says; it is ~11″x9.5″, not a mini-book like many of his others. The pop-ups are varied; there are full-page massive ones, flip-the-flap ones, mixed-media ones, and even one that makes sounds. All worked smoothly in my copy and aren’t difficult to fold/close. –A nice pop-up book.

Blue 2 (Limited Edition): A Pop-up Book for Children of All Ages Review
This is a simple, yet clever book. Don’t be deceived by the 4-8 year age group because my teenage children loved to seek out the hidden features and examine the modern sculptural settings the book creates. Of course you can share it with a younger child but if you want to treasure book even though it appears seemingly robust for a pop up, supervise little hands around it. It is a treasure hunt for all ages at all levels. You have alphabet, art, engineering all rolled into one effective fun book. We also have 600 Black Spots, and One Red Dot and cannot wait to see what the next book the Yellow Square will have in store!So happy to have hunted down a new copy of this one in the meantime!

A Walk Down Sesame Street: Pop-Up Book (Sesame Street Books) Review
This is a beautiful book. It truly does live up to expectations. We laughed at the wiggling Elmo and smiled and remembered at how fun Bert and Ernie are and Big Bird has an impressive paper design, though I personally love the end pages, it was a little treat to see all the gang together – it’s not everyone, but the principle Muppet cast are present and that is enough to spark stories and games with the kids. I have to say, the book is a treasure and a lovely resource to use with the children. Long live Sesame Street!

A Pop-up Book of Nursery Rhymes (Limited Edition): A Classic Collectible Pop-Up Review
The book is brilliant in the design, as it seemed sure to be since the engineering is by Matthew Reinhart, but the pages appear drab because of the muddy colors with which they are printed and the dull paper stock used. Before writing this review, I considered the possibility that the color choices were made to give the book an antique look or for some other artistic reason. Finally, I decided that if that was the objective, it failed. The mechanics on each page are phenomenal, the little side pop-ups are delightful, the illustrations are appropriately cute, but the book, overall, misses the mark. I’m happy to have a signed copy in my collection because Mr. Reinhart is a true genius, and just maybe the Chinese manufacturer is at fault here!

A Pop-Up Book of Nursery Rhymes – Jannis Hoobin – rural Iowa
Intricate pop-ups illustrate well-known nursery rhymes. It is a pleasure to read this book for the young or for the older, more sophisticated collector/reader. The engineering of these pop-ups is truly amazing.
