I got this to take on a plane ride to occupy my 15 month old. It worked great! She could put the stickers and, then take them off and put them on again. She’s little and ripped a few stickers but for this price and the small size, I can’t think of a better thing to put in a diaper bag for a plane ride.

We purchased this for our 3 year old son to use on outings and it is a great little book that he can use many times, plus he likes it. It is useful when dining out, waiting at a doctor’s office, etc. We keep it in the car with similar types of toys reserved for outings. I just slip it in my purse and take it out when he starts to get bored. The stickers come off and on easily and so far, after using it at least 3 times, it has lasted, except for a couple of the stickers.

I am a homeschool mother of 3 and we love this book. My children are following the classical model and we use the story of our world for our history with a little history odyssey thrown in. I really liked this book as it gives a one page summary of the god or goddess then a coloring page. Enough to give my kids an overview and knowledge of who the page is depicting, but not so much details that it gets to be more than a young mind will enjoy. I usually read the page and give it to the child to color and then frequently I read them a tale about that god or goddess from another book or the internet while they color. We often google the gods to see how others have “colored” them. We like the “coloring” of Michelangelo the best. This book is all a young child needs knowledge wise and is a great jumping off point for an older child.

My now four and a half year-old son was pretty much banned from restaurants from age 18 months to age four. With deep breaths inhaled we ventured out for Mother’s Day at a restaurant with menus, table service, cocktails and many adults sans enfants. Of course a small basket of trinkets was in tow. One item in the basket was this pizza activity book, which I purchased for .50 to round out a Super Saver order. My son played with this “toy” for an hour, happily creating his sticker pizza while munching on a french fry or two. I enjoyed my leisurely lunch. I have since purchased several of these books and they have been very helpful in other restaurants and in the car. What a beautiful, simple thing for a buck fifty.

I love this coloring book. Most of us are unable to practice the Mandala sand painting techniques used in Tibet or India for the purpose of meditation. This item does nicely; if you have a full set of colored pencils (I highly recommend the Crayola “Twistables” 30 color package) you are on your way to some peaceful and artistic moments, and you don’t have to sweep them away after you complete them! Pencils are best, I did find that markers tend to bleed through and the mandalas are printed on both sides of the pages. Once you get started, you don’t want to stop.

I, too, have a large collection of Dover coloring books and they’re a great past-time for me as an adult. These are great to do while listening to the t.v.
This particular one is one of my favs. It’s chock full of male and beautiful female wizards, dragons, and mystical lore. It’s so good, I refuse to color in the actual book. Instead I photocopy the images and do the copies.
Dover publications are high quality, printed on high quality white stock paper. You can’t go wrong with these.
Dover also allows limited reproduction rights for use in crafts, etc, which is cool.
